Itinerary

Depart from the hotel and drive to the North of the island to reach the trou du prophete

On the way, stop at Domoni village to see local Mangrove wetland, a wide ecosystem

Mangrove ecosystems are home to a variety of crustaceans, including crabs, shrimp, and prawns. These species play important roles in the food chain and are also commercially important. Some mammals, such as monkeys, otters, and bats, are also found in mangrove ecosystems.

Many bird species, such as herons, egrets, kingfishers, and ospreys, are found in mangrove ecosystems. They feed on fish, crustaceans, and other animals found in the mangrove habitat.

Proceed to Ntsaoueni fishing village to see traditional fishing boats of local community

These primitive fishing boats are made of tree trank from kapok tree

Continuation to famous trou du prophete, known as prophete cave, a very mythic place full of legends and also beautiful for its important bay surounded by white sand beaches and excellent large coral reef

This is the final tour highlight with its kayaking experience and snorkeling opportunity

Underneath the ocean waters, coral reefs are home to various sea creatures – earning them the name “rainforests of the sea”. These include clams, corals, fish, sea turtles, sponges, etc. The reefs are generally built of stony corals held together by calcium carbonate.

Beyond the coral polyps that build the trou du prophete reef structure, you’ll find a breathtaking array of creatures. Fish are incredibly abundant, including colorful parrotfish, sleek sharks, and darting damselfish. Invertebrates dominate the reef’s lower levels, with crustaceans like crabs and lobsters scuttling among the rocks, mollusks like snails and nudibranchs adding splashes of color, and echinoderms like starfish and sea urchins grazing on algae.
