Tree Ferns: Endemic species like Alsophila hildebrandtii and Alsophila kirkii are common in moist forests.
Orchids & Mosses: Abundant epiphytes, including endemic species.
Heaths: The giant heath Erica comorensis dominates high-altitude areas on Mount Karthala.
Other Endemics: Asparagaceae (e.g., Dracaena kirkii), Asphodelaceae (e.g., Aloe alexandrei), Asteraceae (e.g., Helichrysum humblotii), and Balsaminaceae (e.g., Impatiens comorensis).
There is also agricultural land in proximity and low land of the forest as three different villages surround these sites
The village ofMaoueni on the mountain slopes of the west, the village of Dimadjou on the Eastern slopes and Batou village on the south of the forest
There is a 4x4 road till 700 m high and rest of the forest can be done by trekking
