Sima boini mangroves & Chindini beach
Chindini beach is known as the toe of the island because grande Comore has the shape of foot
Chindini village is situated in the far south of the island and its position shapes like a foot toe
It is an excellent beach for swimming and is a home for the big whales during the July August saison
From there you enjoy a nice panoramic view of the Moheli island
Moheli is 50 kilometers sail from this beach
Chindini is also known for its marin fauna such as turtles, fish and whales
Its water has different kind of turtles such as green sea turtles
Green sea turtles are amongst the largest turtles. Their heads appear small in comparison with the size of their body, which is covered in brown scales with a light-colored edge. Males are bigger than females and have a longer tail, sticking out well past the shell. The shell of the turtle has smooth, non-overlapping plates colored different shades of brown, with patterns that change as the turtle grows older. The underside of the shell is lighter colored. Green sea turtles are not able to pull their heads into their shells.
It is a scenic place for whales watching in the periode from June to September
One of the main highlights of the park is watching humpback whales. From July to October, these majestic creatures migrate to the warm waters surrounding Sima mboini to mate and give birth. Tourists can take boat tours to witness these incredible mammals and their playful behaviors
