This tour is a combination of adventure, nature and volcano which allow both impressive discovery of fauna and flora in primary forest and volcano exploration, it is also a very important opportunity to visit old volcano sites such as: Salt lake and Lamnavania craters
Day 1, Safari and trekking tour
9h00 Beginning of the ascent of the Karthala volcano (dynamic), during which we cross very varied landscapes. At an altitude of 2361m, it is the summit of the archipelago and one of the largest active craters in the world (8km in circumference). 1600m of altitude difference to the "base camp". Possibility to discover the local endemic fauna and flora such as endemic birds and medicinal plants
Driving duration 1h30 mn,4X4 Vehicle + Hike / trek 3 hours+ 2h30 mn back to camping
4X4 drive to 1600m high and hike to the summit at 2361m altitude.
13h00 visit the Caldeira among the largest in the world, 3km in diameter and fumeroles around the craters.
14h30 pic nique lunch and Trek down to the camping spot
16h30 Arrive at the spot and enjoy surrounding landscapes
18h00 Night in tents and grilled dinner around a camping fire under the stars of the Southern Cross

Day 2, descent back to Moroni
Wake up in the morning and breakfast at 7h00
8h00 Trek down through primary forest to enjoy fauna and flora of the parc of Mt Karthala
See the indigenous birds such as Karthala white eye, Comoro cuckoo roller, Comoro black parrot, Comoro blue pigeon, Comoro olive pigeon,….Etc
11h00 Reach the village of Nvouni and transfer to Moroni
Day 3. Visit northern volcanic sites
Depart from the hotel to the North of the island where you discover the rest of volcano atmosphere of the island.
See the salt lake, an old hotspring that has cooled down some decades ago and its sulferic water is reputed to heel skin diseases
Proceed to the Lamnavalia old crater where to enjoy its landscape dominated by giant trees inside the deep hole which host endemic bats
The tour take you to the Dragon rocks which is one of the oldest volcano scenery of the island
An impressive rock formation that looklilke the shape of Dragon beside the blue ocean
Drive back to the hotel
Day 4: Onward flight-End of Comoro services
Breakfast and transfer to the airport for the onward flight
